Annie and Jack were going home after school.

But Annie raced alone into the woods.

Jack followed her and found a tall oak tree.

The oak tree had a rope ladder.

The longest rope ladder Jack had ever seen.

Annie started up the ladder and kept climbing.

Annie disappeared inside the tree house.

"Annie!" Jack called her and waited a moment.

He was about to call again when Annie poked her head out of the tree house window.

"Books! It&aposs filled with books!" She shouted.

Jack loved books.

He gripped the sides of the rope ladder, and up he went.
