Jack and Annie were very cold. Their teeth chattered. Besides, they put on just bath suits. Peanut sounded cold, too. Annie put into Jack's backpack Peanut.

Jack said they have to go home. But they couldn't go back because was gone Pennsylvania book. It will come back as they complete their mission.

Jack took out their research book. Then he looked its cover that was written to "Life in the Ice Age."

They thought better find the third M thing before they freeze to death.

Just then Annie shouted, looking out the window. "People." Jack read about them from the research book.

They were called Cro-Magnons lived and during the late Ice Age in Europe. They lived in caves beneath cliffs. Their family often hunted together. Also, they covered deep pits with branches for a hunt.

Jack and Annie hurried to find the M thing. So they climbed down the rope ladder. Jack put his towel around his head and Annie had put on her swimming goggles. But they were very cold. The wind blows hard and the ground had filled with white snow. They had to find a cave or someplace warmer.

They found a cave and they stepped carefully into the cave. There was smell like a wet dog.

Annie looked around inside and went deeper. Jack opened the Ice Age book.

Annie saw many bones over the floor of the cave. Jack found a picture of a cave filled with bones from the book.

In there were the great cave bears of the Ice Age.

Jack called Annie, "Get back here now!"
