When the tree house stopped to spin and silence. Far away a dog barked.
Annie said that we did come home.
Jack and Annie looked out the tree house window.
Jakc said to himself. That was close.
There was a light on in their upstairs window in the distance.
So they hurried to their house. because they didn't want to know their mom and dad.
They climbed down the ladder and ran down their deserted street.
They got to their house. Right up to the back door.
Jack and Annie slipped inside the house.
No sign of his mom or dad upstairs. But he could hear water running in the bathroom.
Unlike the dark, cold castle, t
heir house was so safe and cozy
Annie entered her room. Jack hurried into his room.
He took off his damp clothes and pulled on his dry and soft pajamas.
He sat down on his bed and took out his wet notebook and pencil
He found the blue leather bookmark out of his pack.
Jack studied it. The leather was smooth and worn and had letter M.
Jack pulled out the gold medallion in his drawer.
Both letter M on the gold medallion and leather bookmark was same.
Jack thought one mystery solved.
The person who had dropped the gold medallion was the same person who owned all the books in the tree house.
He started to write down this new fact, but before he could draw the M, his eyes closed.
He dreamed that all three of them rode the black horse the cool, dark night, Into the mist.
