작성자

Jack and Annie's first missions as Master Librarians were to save stories from ancient libraries.

In their last adventure they saved the story from library of Pompeii in Roman.

Today they must find the first writing of the legend before the Imperial Library is destroyed. Titled book 'The Time of the First Emperor" help them. And Morgan said that in their darkest hour, only the old legend could save them.

The tree house had landed in a lone tree in a sunny field. At the edge of the field was a farmhouse and beyond the house was a walled city which was ruled by its first emperor called Dragon King over 2,000 years ago in China. Jack and Annie clothes had magically changed instead of own.

When they started through the field, a cowherd did them a favor to tell a message to the silk weaver living at the farmhouse. The message was that he would wait to meet her in the field at twilight.

Jack with Annie kept walking across the pasture toward the road, then stopped at the farmhouse. when they brought the message to the young silk weaver, she gave them a ball of yellow thread as her thank-you. Jack asked her how to make silk, but the making of silk was China's most valuable secret. Anyone who steals the secret would be arrested and the Dragon King would had him to death.

That's when a man was pointing at Jack and Annie, and someone shouted to stop them. So they dived into back of the wooden cart and buried themselves in the middle of the bags of grain.

Suddenly the cart lurched forward. Jack and Annie peeked over the bags, they were on their way to the walled city. As the cart slowly came to a halt, they peeked out a long line of men carrying tools to build. Jack and Annie found a picture of the workers on the book. At the age, the Dragon King forced many of his subjects to start building a wall to protect china from invaders. At last, the Great Wall of China was the longest structure ever built.

Just then, the cart driver grabbed Jack and Annie, Jack dropped the book. Though the driver was dressed as a farmer, he was a scholar and loved reading and learning. But now scholars were in danger and many of them had gone into hiding. Because the Dragon King was afraid of the power of books and learning. The king wanted people to think only what he wanted them to think and any day he might order the burning of the books. All the books in the Imperial Library would be burned.

Jack and Annie told him their mission, and then showed him the secret library cards and Morgan's bamboo strip. He had knew about Master Librarians, and the story well.

Toward the Imperial Library they all climbed into the oxcart. The oxcart bumped across the wooden bridge that crossed over a moat. Then it passed guards standing by giant wooden gates which closed every day at sunset and the city was sealed the night.

The cart bumped between the city gates and along rows of small houses, and passed larger houses and a large market square. Some people even lined up at a stall filled with tiny cages in which crickets of pet was.

In the end, they stopped in front of the palace gates. Inside were beautiful gardens and huge mounds of earth surrounded by a low brick wall, where the Imperial Burial Grounds of the ancestors of the Dragon king. Someday the Dragon King himself would be buried in there as well. Three hundred thousand workers had builded his burial bomb.

Just then, a dark cloud of smoke was rising into the sky. The cart rolled into the courtyard, and soldiers were everywhere. The King watched the bonfire and Bamboo books were stacked beside the fire, waiting to be burned. The scholar found their book, the bamboo strip of which Morgan had given on the stack.

Annie snatched up the bundle of bamboo strips and was charging back to them. As soon as the King shouted to his soldiers to seize them, the scholar said to run through the burial grounds. Because the soldiers feared the spirits of the ancestors, so they would be afraid to follow in there.

Even though arrows filled the air around two of them, they ran between the huge mounds of earth and ducked inside. But they reached the bottom, they were in a room filled with row of thousands soldiers. The truth was that the soldiers were fake like the pyramid in ancient Egypt. Neither soldiers had the same faces, and nor the horses did.

When they were lost way, the ball of thread which rolled out of Jack's sack, helped them. The boll of yellow silk thread had rolled out and was still rolling, leaving a trail of yellow thread.

Finally, when they stepped out, they were standing outside the gate of the palace. They charged across the bridge and kept running up the dirt road past the farmhouse and through the field.

By the time they reached their tree, their lungs ached and bare feet burned.

After backing their woods, Morgan stood in the tree house. She told them about the legend called "The Silk Weaver and the Cowherd". That's when Jack and Annie's journey had met them. They were heavenly beings who lived in the sky, when they came to earth, they fell in love, but they returned to the sky, the king of the say separated them by a heavenly river called the Millky Way and then they get back together once a year.

On their way home, Jack and Annie heard chirping crikets from woods. Annie said, "The grownups are telling the little crikets a legend right now and the legend passed down from their ancestors." The cricket noise did sound like storytelling.
