The samurai were coming toward Jack and Annie. At that time Annie thought of the ninja master's suggestion "Be nature".
As Annie said that to Jack, Jack refused to do it but he had no choice except doing it. Jack and Annie tried to be as calm,safe, strong as rock and finally they thought that they were rocks forever. It might help them not to be captured by the samurai and they were free and also they felt that they might be ninjas. Jack and Annie moved east and finally reached to the wild, rushing stream. Jack tried to cross it like a ninja but he failed to go across and Annie helped Jack to go onto the bank. Jack was freezing to death and also he lost his courage like a ninja. At that time the moused came from Annie's pouch and was going through the grass beside water. Annie called Peanut but Jack thought the master's word "Follow nature" and they tried to follow Peanut. But Peanut, the mouse was going onto the branch and moved, which had fallen from one side to the other side of the stream and it was like a bridge. The branch seemed to be so weak to keep its weight when Jack and Annie moved onto it. Jack didn't want to go but Annie pushed Jack to do it. They experienced being nature when they were on the rocks so they tried to be a mouse. Jack and Annie thought that they were teeny, fast, light like a mouse and they didn't think anything except going to the other side of the stream. Finally they succeeded their mission and they fell down the grass. They felt great because they did something like a ninja. They found the tree house high up in the tree, where it was shone by moonlight. The samurai were coming back to them but they weren't be scared and went up to the tree house. Before they went to the tree house, they didn't know where Peanut was. They should go to the tree house although they couldn't find Peanut. When they went into the tree house, they heard "squeak" and saw a dark figure sitting on the corner, it was the ninja master. He cheered Jack and Annie up and handed Peanut, moonstone (might be one of four things), and the Pennsylvania book to Jack and Annie. Jack and Annie asked the ninja master to go with them but he refused their requests and said something honorable words. He said "Keep kind mind and there will be another road for you to get over, but don't be afraid to do it by yourself". After saying this word, he swung silently down the rope ladder and disappeared into the dark night. Annie pointed at the picture of Frog Creek and said that she hoped to go there. The tree house spun faster and faster and after a few second there was silence. Jack opened his eyes and he knew that they were coming back to their hometown. They heard cricket's chirping, Henry's barking, and their father's calling. Annie took her shoes and pulled off her one of her socks and made a bed for Peanut. They said goodbye to Peanut and Jack saw Peanut's eyes which felt old and wise. Jack and Annie came down to the ground and ran to their house like a ninja, and at that time it was so dark because the sun had set already.
