right after today’s class but decided to flick through some books at the YP bookstore in Jonggak station. Well, being surrounded by books often makes me feel better and relaxed. As it’s another test day tomorrow, I thought it’d be a good idea to take some break there, calming my mind.

So I did and it worked. I found a good book and just schemed through it for a while. Around 30 minutes later I headed for the station’s platform to get back home. I was standing there and waiting for the subway to come. But then, some granny approached me and stood beside me. I was already starting to feel a little annoyed from this moment, but a more annoying thing had yet to happen. As the subway arrived and opened its door, I was wating for a group of people to get off first. But the granny was so in a hurry to get on the subway. Until then, I didn’t really care about her.

What really irritated me happened afterwards. The subway car was packed with people as it always is on Fridays, and I had no choice but to be standing. This granny started to push me to go further inside. There was not enough space inside, no room to go in. Well, but this kind of thing still happens a lot. I of course could put up with it. It was then a man who seemed to be in his 50s called me and offered his seat for me..! He told the granny that he was sorry to her. I think he said that because he felt sorry to her but he wanted to give up his seat for a pregnant woman.

Anyways, I thanked him a lot and sat down on the seat. I was actually feeling very tired. And being in a crowded subway always makes me feel dizzy a little bit. And the seat beside me became available right away and this grant also took that seat. But then this granny suddenly complained, grumbling that she couldn’t understand why that man gave up his seat for a young woman, not her, who is older.

I couldn’t have said anything about her offensive and rude comment, but just felt like letting her know that I was as weak as her, or weaker. So I told her, making it clear that man offered me a favor because I’m pregnant. Well, should pregnant women gave up their seats for those elderly people? Even if they feel dizzy and fall down to the floor sometimes? Why are they thinking that just being older gives them such a privilege at all times, no matter what? I also wonder if they would do the same thing to their daughters or grand-daughters. Well, I don’t think she would ever be able to realize this given that she still doesn’t know about that till her age.
