A magnitude 5.4 quake hit Pohang in the afternoon around 2:30 p.m. yesterday.
Even though I was at home in Seoul, I could feel the shaking.
I heard an emergency message alert sound from my phone right before l felt it.
Right after I read the message, the ground started to shake.
As soon as my mother came home, I asked if she felt the earthquake.
She said that she didn't feel the shaking but read the news about the earthquake.
It is quite scary because I thought Korea was a safe zone from earthquakes.
When we were in elementary school, we learned that Korea is not located along the Pacific "ring of fire", an area of seismic and volcanic but not anymore.
In recent years, some earthquakes have happened in Korea.
Because of this, KAST(수능) is delayed this year for the first time.
I hope no one got hurt by this earthquake in Korea.
