They headed deeper into the pyramid.

Soon the floor became flat. The air felt different. Musty and stale.
곧 바닥이 평평해졌고, 공기가 달라짐을 느꼈다. 습하고 퀴퀴한.
"Eee-eee!" A strange cry shot through the pyramid.
"으-!" 낯선 비명소리가 피라미드로부터 터져나왔다.
Jack dropped the Egypt book.
잭은 이집트책을 떨어뜨렸다.
Out of the shadows flew a white figure.
그림자 밖으로 흰 형상이 흘러나갔다.
It swooshed down toward them!
그들을 향해 휙하고 내려갔다.
A mummy!
미이라다!
"It's alive !" Annie shouted.
살아있어! 애니가 소리쳤다.
1. Meow
"It's still here."said Jack.
"아직 여기에 있어." 잭이 말했다.
"It's looks empty." said Annie.
"텅빈 것 같아." 애니가 말했다.
Jack and his seven year old sister gazed up at a very tall oak tree.
잭과 그의 7살난 동생은 매우 큰 오크나무를 올려다보았다.
At the top of the tree was a tree house.
나무 꼭대기에는 트리 하우스가 있었다.
Late morning sunlight lit the woods. It was almost time for lunch.
늦은 아침 햇살이 나무를 비추었다. 거의 점심 즈음이었다.
"Shhh!" said Jack. "What was that noise?"
"쉿!" 잭이 말했다. 무슨 소리였지?
"What noise?"
"무슨 소리?"
"I heard a noise." Jack said. He looked around. "It sounded like someone coughing."
"나는 뭔가 들었어." 잭이 말했아. 그는 주위를 둘러보았다. "누군가 기침하는 것 같은 소리였어."
"I didn't hear anything." said Annie.
"나는 아무것도 안들려." 애니가 말했다.
"Come on. Let's go up."
"이리와봐. 올라가보자."
She grapped onto the rope ladder and started climbing.
그녀는 사다리 밧줄에 착 달라붙었고, 위로 오르기 시작했다.
Jack tiptoed over to the clump of bushes. He pushed aside a small branch.
잭은 덤불을 가로질러 살금살금 걸었다. 그는 작은 덤불을 밀어냈다.
"Hello?" he said. "Anybody there?"
"저기요??" 그가 말했다. "누구 없나요?"
There was no answer.
아무 대답이 없었다.
"Come on!" Annie called down. "The tree house looks the same as it did yesterday."
"이리와봐." 애니가 불렀다. "트리하우스는 어제와 같아 보여."
Jack still felt that someone was nearby.
잭은 여전히 누군가 곁에 있다고 느꼈다.
Could it be the person who'd put all the books in the tree house?
트리하우스에 책을 놔 둔 사람 일까?
"Ja-ack!"
"잭!"
Jack gazed over the top of the bushes.
잭은 덤불의 꼭대기를 넘어 바라보았다.
Was the mysterious person watching him now?
미스테리한 남자가 그를 바라보고 있는 거 아닌가?
The person whose name began with M?
이름이 M으로 시작하는 그 남자인가?
