After Jack and Annie ran away from the dungeon and went in a door off the hallway.
Annie shined her flashlight around the room.
There were sacks and wooden barrels.
Just then someone was coming toward them.
They hid behind the door as it was open. The door was open but the torches of guards shined the sacks and wooden barrels and gone.
Jack wanted to know where they were and he pulled out the book and tore through it.
Annie said that we had to go before they came back.
Then Jack found the castle map. The map showed them where they were.
And this door was conntected through a secret passage to a precipice over the moat.
Jack and Annie didn't know what a precipice meant.
And first Jack had to find the door for them to get out,
Jack looked at the picture carefully. The trapdoor in the picture was five stones away from the door to the hall. Jack shined the flashlight on the floor and counted the stones.
"One, two, three, four, five"
He stamped on the fifth stone. It was loose.
Jack and Annie lifted up the trapdoor.
There was a little ladder in the hole.
He went down the small ladder with the flashlight. And Annie followed.
When they both reached the bottom of the ladder, there was a tunnel.
They crouched down and began moving throught the dampen, creepy tunnel.
When they walked in the tunnel, the betteries were running down.
Jack tried to hurry and get out of the castle before the bateries died completely.
Soon he arrived at another small wooden door.
Jack pushed the door open.
He couldn't see anything in darkness.
So he stuck one leg out the door then the other.
Jack walked down slowly, Until he was hanging out the door, clinging to the ledge.
Jack felt this must be the precipice.
He called to Annie. "Pull me up!"
But Annie couldn't hold his hands, Annie's arms were short.
His fingers slipped from the stone wall.
He fell down through the darkness.
SPLASH!
